Meet The Team

John has dedicated 30 years to the custom home building industry. He earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University before founding Homes by McKenzie in 1993. He enjoys seeing clients’ dream homes become a reality, and he takes great satisfaction in a job well done. He serves as a partner in the Jubilee Village Project in Kenya and as a YoungLife volunteer at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School. When he’s not working, John likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters, cheer on the Colts and Boilermakers, and stay active. In 2013, he successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Geoff is a graduate of the University of Dayton. He has many years’ experience in New Home Sales and Real Estate. Collaborating with buyers to ensure their dream home concept is realized is Geoff’s purpose and joy in the process. His interests include fitness and nutrition where he earned a NASM Certified Personal Trainer designation. We would be remiss not to mention he is an avid golfer! Spending time with family, especially his two grandsons, is life’s simple pleasure and the reason behind it all.

Crissy has spent the last five years in new home sales, helping people create the perfect setting for the next chapter of their lives. She sees her job as a marriage of her two passions: being there when people need her, and all things home. Formerly a high school teacher–and having grown up around construction–Crissy listens carefully to understand the needs of homebuyers, and her approach is one of partnership during the process. Most of all, she is grateful for the lifelong friendships that she develops along the way. In her spare time, Crissy enjoys spending time with her family, finding new healthful and delicious recipes, spending time in nature, and driving fast cars.

Kate graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelors degree in Interior Design and has worked with McKenzie clients for 22 years building their Dream Homes. Kate is known for her attention to detail, passion for design, and presenting design solutions to meet her client’s needs. In her spare time, Kate travels around the world with family and friends, wrangles her two goofy dogs, remodeled her 1926s home and cheers with her husband for the Colts regardless of their W/L record.

Graduating from the Apparel Merchandising & Interior Design program at Indiana University, Jodi began her career working for two major fashion brands in Chicago and on the West Coast. After a highly successful pivot to pharmaceutical sales, Jodi longed to get back to her design roots. Her stunning remodels and bespoke builds have gone on to be featured in the Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis Monthly and other regional publications.

Chris ran a successful renovation company for 15 years prior to joining the McKenzie Team. He is a 3rd generation Builder with an extensive construction background in residential and light commercial management. Chris enjoys working with and putting his Homeowners as top priority in business. Outside of work, Chris spends most of his time with his wife and two young children. Sports and staying active are essential in the Curts’ household.

Steve has been an assistant project manager with McKenzie Collection since March of 2018. He’s been in the construction industry for about a decade, spending a majority of the time in the industry as an electrician. When Steve is not at work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys racing and riding ATVS.

Prior to joining the McKenzie team, Jake worked with a landscaping company. Starting out as a crew member and quickly moving into a foreman role, Jake managed a crew and oversaw many commercial and residential landscaping projects including some for Homes by McKenzie. Jake enjoys playing with his dogs and watching movies as well as cooking in his free time.
